New NSW rule for dual acceptors

An amendment to the NSW rule regarding dual acceptors means an early decision about which race a horse contests.

From October 1, horses must hold only one engagement by 5pm on acceptance day unless they are emergencies for a second race.

Racing NSW said the amendment was introduced to balance the competing interests of owners and trainers to ensure they are given the opportunity to select the most suitable race and for punters to ensure certainty when bets are placed on final fields.
