New members stand at Flemington

The Victoria Racing Club will start construction of a new members’ grandstand at Flemington after the Melbourne Cup carnival.

The 92-year-old stand will be demolished to make way for a state-of-the-art faciility.

The new grandstand, which is due to be completed in time for the 2018 Melbourne Cup carnival, will cost $128 million and will have five levels including a rooftop garden.
