Bloodstock agent Neil Jenkinson proving an ace card for Matt Dunn
Care To Think has proved an astute buy for the Matt Dunn stable and heads to the Magic Millions.
Bloodstock agent Neil Jenkinson has again showed why he is regarded among Australia’s best judges of horseflesh when Care to Think skipped several classes to win the Buffering Quality at Doomben.
Jenkinson has been gradually building a name for himself in the past two decades but in recent years has gone to another level and in particular with trainer Matt Dunn.
Jenkinson liked the look of Care To Think at the 2015 Magic Millions National Sale and was able to get him for just $16,000.
Care To Think has now won five races and $240,000 prize money.
His win in the Buffering made him exempt from the ballot in the $1 million Magic Millions Cup on January 13.
The Murwillumbah-based Dunn credits Jenkinson with much of his success in recent years as he has become a regular in the Brisbane and Sydney winner’s circles.
“Neil works very hard and has an excellent eye for a horse,” Dunn said.
Improved mare Don’t Babylon gave Dunn his second wild card entry into the Magic Millions day when she won the Listed Nudgee Quality (1200m) at Doomben.
Jeff Lloyd rang up a treble with a daring ride to take Don’t Babylon ($41) to the lead and she held on to win.
Don’t Babylon is home bred and was not eligible for the $1 million Fillies and Mares Magic Millions race on January 13.
The mare had won a lowly rating 0-70 race at Doomben two starts back but Dunn decided to give her a chance when she got a run as an emergency on Saturday.
