Australian raider Viddora and Hong Kong star Mr Stunning will be monitored heading towards Sunday’s Group 1 Chairman’s Sprint Prize after stewards declared both runners presented lame during the week.

Mr Stunning, who is at $6 with online bookmaker Ladbrokes, was noted as lame following trackwork on Friday morning.

The Hong Kong stewards stated that “Mr Stunning will be closely monitored and a further release will be issued tomorrow following the horse’s routine pre-race veterinary inspection.”

Hong Kong’s chief Veterinarian Dr Peter Curl also noted that Mr Stunning has “a number of skin lesions over its left and right body” but samples returned showed no signs for ringworm and will not threaten the horse’s position in the race.

South Australian star Viddora also presented lame following track work on Wednesday.

The Lloyd Kennewell runner, which is paying $10 at online bookmaker Sportsbet, was noted to be lame in its right hind leg. Dr Curl said the horse’s condition “has improved considerably” and is in a “suitable condition to race.”

The Chairman’s Sprint Prize is the sixth race on the Sha Tin card this Sunday with Group 1 TJ Smith Stakes winner Santa Ana Lane the $1.90 favourite with online bookmaker Neds to take out the Group 1.
