Moonee Valley Friday night quaddie form and tips, September 30

quaddie of the week

WHAT a night of racing this Friday at Moonee Valley which features the Group 1 Moir Stakes where the world’s top-rated sprinter Chautauqua returns to the track.

All four quaddie legs are terrific races which kicks off with the Stutt Stakes where some talented three-year-olds take to the track.

The Stocks Stakes is also on the card where the likes of Rising Romance and P.B. Lawrence Stakes winner Miss Rose de Lago will do battle.

It’s a great betting occasion on Friday night and the Melbourne quaddie pools reach astronomical levels. We have all the form and free tips for the quaddie at Moonee Valley and CrownBet will give up to $50 in bonus bets if your runner finishes second on nominated races.

Leg 1 – Stutt Stakes 3YO (1600m)

Inference is a winner of three from four starts and after winning by two lengths last start, the Hawkes-trained colt looks prepared for the big time. The son of So You Think suffered only one defeat, which came at the hands of the talented Highland Beat, so include it in quaddie bets at $4.

Hey Doc was an impressive winner on this track last start and it could be a gelding going places. The Tony McEvoy-trained three-year-old sat three-wide throughout the trip last start, but it was still far too good for its rivals. Drawn well here which helps and the $6 is a great price after it opened at $5.

Detective has some good form lines in beating Tessera last start and finishing second behind Seaburge in the VRC Sires’ Produce. The Snowden-trained colt has improved nicely over its last two starts and The Valley should suit nicely. Drifting in the betting, but shouldn’t be discounted at $5.50.

Leg 1 quaddie tips: 1, 3, 6

Leg 2 – Zoustar Stocks Stakes (1600m)

Rising Romance is a quality six-year-old which didn’t fire in the Makybe Diva Stakes, but it ran second behind Black Heart Bart in the Memsie Stakes two back. The Hayes/Dabernig-trained mare hasn’t won for some time which is a major concern, but it brings the class factor to this and it’s in fitter condition now.

Miss Rose de Lago had no luck in the Dato Tan Chin Nam Stakes last start when finishing last, but its win prior was full of class and it could rebound quickly. The Danny O’Brien-trained mare has winning experience on this track which is a bonus and if it can get a soft lead, it looks the biggest danger to Rising Romance at $4.20.

Don’t Doubt Mamma was an impressive winner in the Let’s Elope Stakes last start and the rise in distance should suit this time around. It has won six from 15 starts and has form around the likes of Miss Gunpowder, Ocean Embers and Thames Court. Not an easy race to win, but the $4 suggests punters are confident.

Leg 2 quaddie tips: 1, 2, 10

Leg 3 – Group 1 Moir Stakes (1000m)

Chautauqua will bring the crowd to Moonee Valley and it looks a good chance in the Moir Stakes. The Hawkes-trained sprinter is fresh up after winning the Group 1 Chairman’s Sprint in Hong Kong and that form is superior to most of these. Winner of five from six fresh up starts, but it did taste defeat twice at Flemington last season when second behind Delectation and third behind The Quarterback. That is a concern, but punters are prepared to take the $2.25 available.

Extreme Choice is a three-year-old with loads of pace, but it all hinges on how well it jumps. The Mick Price-trained speedster typically flies the barriers and is far too quick for them, as shown when it defeated Highland Beat by four lengths in the Chairman’s Stakes at Caulfield. It missed the jump in the Golden Slipper which was the end of its chance, but at 52kg it could be tough to catch if it fires at the start. Second line of betting at $4.80.

Buffering can’t be ruled out having won this race in three of the last four years. The champion nine-year-old is a course specialist which has been working well leading into this and it will likely land on the speed and try give them something to catch. Not an easy race to win for a nine-year-old, but it can’t be ruled out at $6.50.

Leg 3 quaddie tips: 1, 2, 9

Leg 4 – William Hill R90 Handicap (1200m)

Sir Bacchus is a quality gelding which wasn’t able to carry 61.5kg to victory last start. The Chris Waller-trained four-year-old was a stylish winner fresh up at Rosehill and it has won four from five starts at this distance. Drawn well and Craig Williams knows how to ride at Moonee Valley.

Heza Ripper looks the only danger to Sir Bacchus. The Hayes/Dabernig-trained gelding is an underrated type which has won its last two starts at Morphettville. It is a five-time winner over this distance and is unbeaten in five starts on a slow track. Looks ideal here and the $7.50 is a value price.

Leg 4 quaddie tips: 3, 4
