Money Ad earns another visit to the city

Prolific country winner Money Ad earned a chance at big city money for the second time in a month with his victory in the Summer Provincial Sprint series heat at Dalby.

Miles trainer Bevan Johnson travels his horses all over the state from his Western Downs stables and is best known for his galloper Fab’s Cowboy who has won 35 races.

Money Ad ($11) finished powerfully to score for Johnson and regular rider Dakota Graham to record his 16th win.

Money Ad finished fourth in the Country Cups Challenge at Doomben on November 30.

The Racing Queensland Summer Provincial Sprint Series is run over four heats with the $125,000 final at Eagle Farm on Saturday week and Money Ad will now be there.

The fourth heat was originally scheduled for Ipswich but when that track was closed for repairs it was switched to Dalby.

There would be few better-bred horses to win a maiden in country Queensland than Pirelli ($3.20).

Pirelli is by top sire Sebring out of the stakes-winning mare Vareena Miss who is a half-sister to Group One winners Criterion and Comin’ Through.

The gelding was originally passed in at $190,000 before doing his early racing with Victorian trainer Tony Noonan.

Roma trainer Craig Smith picked up Pirelli for $8000 at an Inglis online tried-horses sale and the gelding has now won and run two seconds for the stable.
