It’s the Moe Cup meeting on Friday afternoon, with nine races for punters to run their eye over. There are showers forecasted for Thursday night and Friday morning, so the Soft 5 that has come up may remain in place or could be downgraded. The rail is in the true position throughout, and history shows the track usually plays fairly. The first race on Moe Cup Day 2020 is set to jump at 12:10pm AEDT.
It’s hard to not get excited by the promising start of this Shea Eden trained 4YOP gelding. He was breathtaking on debut when bolting in under a hold by 7 lengths at Wodonga, and then backed it up last start at Bendigo on the metropolitan scene. He drops back to the country circuit and finds himself well placed in a BM70 to round out Cup day. In both runs he has shown he can handle any position in the field after circling the field on debut, and then was an all the way winner at Bendigo. He should prove too hard to run down in the Moe Sprint.

Mick Price and Jack Hill will hope to keep the winning form going for this 3YO gelding, who has chased home the handy Pensato this campaign and that galloper goes around in the Ethereal Stakes on Saturday at Caulfield. It’s hard to ignore his last two wins at Tatura in consecutive starts when taking a sit just behind the leaders on both occasions and proving too strong over the concluding stages. From barrier three he maps to get the same economical run here, and he should prove tough to hold out.

We’re happy to be on the side of the Coleraine Cup winner Silent Command in the featured event on the card. He maps to get an economical run in the race, and prefers racing up on speed so it should suit him perfectly. He rates highly with Will Price retaining the ride and looks the horse to be over the odds in the race and will look to add his second country cup in consecutive starts here.
