Miss Cover Girl beats Azkadellia in Tiara

Miss Cover Girl found winning form when it mattered most to claim the Group One Tattersall’s Club Tiara at Eagle Farm.

Out of the winner’s circle since a Group Three victory during The Championships last year, Miss Cover Girl held off the favourite Azkadellia in the last Group One of the Australian racing season.

She was given a perfect ride from Damian Browne, launching her claim from the midfield to find the best going out wide in the straight.

After drawing to the front at the 200m, Miss Cover then had to fend off Azkadellia who also came down the outside rail.

Sydney mare Sultry Feeling took the minor placing.

“She hasn’t had a lot of luck in her whole career, but today she was able to get into a nice spot,” Browne said.

Miss Cover Girl gave trainer Kelly Schweida his second win in the feature, a race restricted to fillies and mares.
