McCreery wins Rowley Mile
A couple of days out from the return of Winx, her stablemate McCreery has sported the same colours to win the Listed Rowley Mile at Hawkesbury.
McCreery ($2.15 fav) led in a Chris Waller-trained trifecta on Thursday, beating Marenostro and Junoob.
An English import formerly trained by roger Charlton, McCreery has had six Australian starts for two wins and two placings.
Jockey Tommy Berry has worn the blue silks before, winning the Group Two Phar Lap Stakes on Winx in March last year.
But it will be Hugh Bowman who wears them on Saturday when the now champion mare begins her run to a second Cox Plate in the Warwick Stakes at Randwick.
