Luke Nolen expected to make full recovery

Jockey Luke Nolen has been cleared of spinal injury and expects to be back riding in a couple of months when he recovers from broken bones suffered in a fall in Adelaide.

Nolen fractured his left collar bone and shoulder when he was hit by another horse as he lay on the ground after falling from Miss Promiscuity in Saturday’s Group One Robert Sangster Stakes at Morphettville.

The accident happened just 40 minutes after Nolen won the Australasian Oaks on Abbey Marie, his first Group One win since he returned from a long recuperation from back surgery.

Nolen’s wife Alicia said an MRI scan on Monday cleared him of any problems with his back.

“Luke Nolen has been cleared of any spinal injuries. Expected to make a full recovery and back riding in a couple of months. Best outcome” she tweeted.

Nolen is best known for his long association with unbeaten champion Black Caviar.
