Louie Sea Kay makes it a treble for Brown

Experienced jockey Corey Brown warmed up for a return to the Queensland winter carnival with a treble at Rosehill.

Brown reigned supreme on Saturday when Louie Sea Kay won the last after making a dramatic improvement from the Melbourne Cup-winning hoop’s first experience with the four-year-old.

They first paired up at Hawkesbury last month, where Brown reckoned the Gwenda Markwell-trained gelding would have won had he not jumped poorly.

“He flopped at the barriers and we got shuffled back. Today I woke him up before we got to the barriers and made sure he’d jump clean enough,” he said.

Louie Sea Kay ($8.50) over-raced in the middle stages but that was immaterial as he finished off well to beat Sultan Of Swing ($14) by a half length.

Dreamforce, the $3.70 favourite, was a neck back in third.

Brown, who earlier rode Test The World and Cottage to victory, said Louie Sea Kay would continue to thrive over winter.
