Lever, Pitomac injured in Scone falls

Jockeys Chad Lever and Daniel Pitomac remain in hospital after falls at Scone.

Lever was taken to Newcastle’s John Hunter Hospital after he suffered concussion and a cut to his head when he fell in a race on Monday while Pitomac came off when his mount bucked at the start of a barrier trial after the last race.

Racing NSW doctor David Duckworth says Lever has concussion and a small bleed on his brain that just needs observation.

He also has a deep cut on his forehead that needs stitching, a painful jaw and thumb.

Pitomac was taken to Scone Hospital and should know the results of scans on his back on Wednesday.
