Schumer presents as the best credentialed runner coming into this race. The All American three-year-old placed second at Bairnsdale, and is the only runner that brings in anything close to winning form.

A wide gate is the only thing that will undo First Timer here. In two of its last three runs the horse has placed, and the four-year-old presents as a strong winning hope.

Ecology comes into this race with plenty of form to draw upon. In its last seven races the horse has won twice and missed the first four just once. From barrier four the mare will be hard to hold out.

A claim will help Hurry Harriet here. The horse has been in great form recently and draws well from barrier one. Expect the mare to be in the leading division and win this one from the front.

Champenoise has been great this preparation, winning once and placing second on two occasions. The horse should be fitter and brings the best form of any of these runners.
