Smile could have punters smiling after the opening race.

The Pitman-trained runner finished second on debut at Wingatui as an $11 chance, but expect bookmakers to have it much shorter in the market here.

Race 1 tip: Smile to win at Sportsbet.com.au

Race 2 – BM75 Handicap (1400m)

Entree has been around the mark all season and Danny Crozier usually goes well at these meetings.

The six-year-old is a three-time winner and it’s coming off a tidy third-placed finish at Cromwell last time out.

Race 2 tip: Entree to win at Neds.com.au

Race 3 – Maiden Handicap (1400m)

Pulau Pinang finished second as a despised outsider on debut, but expect shorter odds on offer here.

The Pitman-trained runner exceeded expectations at Riccarton and it’s good to see Chris Johnson take the ride.

Race 4 – Maiden Handicap (1400m)

There isn’t much form in this race, so the last start placing of Cardrona should stack up nicely here.

The Kennedy/Furlong-trained runner ran well at Crownwell and it’s another solid ride for last season’s leading rider Chris Johnson.

Race 4 tip: Cardrona to win at WilliamHill.com.au

Race 5 – BM65 Handicap (1400m)

Prince Ransom could add some value to selections and bookmakers should be offering a good price.

The Pitman-trained gelding has finished fourth and third this campaign, but will need to bounce back from only an average performance last time out.

Race 5 tip: Prince Ransom to win at CrownBet.com.au

Race 6 – Kurow Cup (1400m)

Batman hasn’t quite been its usual self this season, but the dark knight has more ability than most of these.

The Neil Ridley-trained runner finished off strongly for fourth last start, which was encouraging and it gets a significant apprentice claim to help with the big weight.

Race 6 tip: Batman to win at Sportsbet.com.au

Race 7 – BM65 Handicap (1800m)

Los Cabos is looking for consecutive wins after scoring at Wingatui by a long neck last start.

The five-year-old by Mastercraftsman took 17 starts to break maiden grade, but it’s capable of stringing wins together now.

Race 7 tip: Los Cabos to win at Neds.com.au

Race 8 – BM65 Handicap (1800m)

Jumeriah finished off well for third last start and that’s a good form race for this.

It has drawn well in barrier four and it should be able to carry the weight.

Bookmakers should be offering good money for the five-year-old.

Race 8 tip: Jumeriah to win at Neds.com.au
