Kermadec bought by Darley, retired to stud

Dual Group One winner Kermadec has been bought by Darley and retired to stand at its Hunter Valley stud in NSW.

Trained by Chris Waller, Kermadec won four of his 17 starts and earned $2.9 million prize money.

His biggest wins came in last year’s Doncaster Mile and George Main Stakes, both over 1600m at Randwick.

Kermadec will join Darley’s stallion roster for the 2016 breeding season at its Kelvinside property alongside his sire Teofilo.

“We are thrilled to have purchased Teofilo’s best son Kermadec to stand alongside his father at Kelvinside this season,” Darley’s Alastair Pulford said.

Kermadec will stand at a fee of $22,000.
