Kaspersky remains on course for the Queen Anne Stakes at Royal Ascot where he will be ridden by Melbourne Cup-winning jockey Michelle Payne.

The six-year-old counts Italian and German Group Two victories on his record along with third place in the Group One Premio Vittorio di Capua last term.

Formerly trained by Endo Botti, Kaspersky made his debut for Jane Chapple-Hyam when fifth in the Paradise Stakes at Ascot and was second under 10st (63.5kg) in a handicap at Nottingham last time out.

Payne, who created history in 2015 as the first female jockey to win the Melbourne Cup, is lined up to ride at the Royal meeting.

“He will go for the Queen Anne now . Michelle Payne is definitely riding him and I think she is aiming to get here about June 14, then she can sit on him at home and get to know him,” Chapple-Hyam said.

“He will come on again, I am not saying he is going to be in the first four, but he will give his owners a run for their money. His long-term goal is the Emirates Stakes at the Melbourne Cup Carnival.”

Payne confirmed via Twitter on Monday she hoped to ride in races before the Royal meeting.

“Very excited. Looking forward to heading over early and getting to know the horse and possibly do a bit of riding there before hand,” she said.
