Kalgoorlie Boulder Cup Betting Preview & Tips
The 18th running of the Boulder Cup is the feature race seven on an eight race card at Kalgoorlie, where a 10 horse field will contest the 2105 metres Listed race.
The Darwin Cup winner Ihtsahymn returns after a 6 week freshen up and will carry 60 kgs giving his rivals all at least 3.5kgs. The Coolgardie Cup winner in Western Templecomes up favourite after an impressive performance a fortnight ago, which saw him beat home two of his rivals in this race in Friar Fox and Divine Shadow.
Looks like a highly competitive running of the Boulder Cup and we’ll try and steer you into a winner, with the race set to jump at 6:50pm AEST.
2020 Boulder Cup Tips
Off a six week freshen up the Darwin Cup winner is clearly the class horse in the race. He’s no stranger to lugging a big weight around after carrying 62kg and 61.5kg in his two starts this campaign. We all know he will stay all day and has four victories when third up. Trialled nicely last Monday and looks well placed at a nice price to take out the Boulder Cup.
Struggled out of the barriers last star in the Western Temple mentioned earlier yet was right in the finish and to only go down by three quarters of a length proves she can go on with it here with better barrier manners. Had only been racing moderately prior to her last start, but looks like she can go on with it here with a better run in transit.
In what looks a highly competitive race, Superior Smile looks to be the one over the odds. The 6YO gelding peaked on his run last started when hitting the lead with 150 metres to go in the Coolgardie Cup before being run down late. Will take benefit from that third up run and has yet to run out of the placings at this distance and must be included in any exotics.
