June 1 quaddie at Warwick Farm with betting guide and free tips

quaddie of the week

Big fields are the flavour of the day at Warwick Farm this Wednesday as we target another winning quaddie. The midweek quaddie can pay out huge figures and there’s no reason not to be involved.

Quaddies are one of the most popular bet types with horse racing punters and this week’s quaddie starts on Race 4 at 2:45pm with a Rating 72 Handicap.

Leg 1 – Rating 72 Handicap (2200m)

Zourkhan was disappointing in the quaddie last start for favourites punters, but it will be fitter for that outing. The Chris Waller-trained horse finished seventh at Canterbury last start as the $2.80 favourite and we’re expecting that price to be bigger for this. It rises in grade which shows the stable confidence and it should be included in quaddie selections.

Zatopaz will be well favoured having finished second in this grade last start. The in-form Bjorn Baker-trained gelding has taken on some tough fields of late which included a fifth at Randwick behind Sir John Hawkwood and that form will stack up for this. Big weight of 61.5kg, but it appears the horse to beat.

Leg 2 – Tab More Than Just Winning Rating 72 (1300m)

Spiced sprinted home nicely to win last time out at Wyong. The John O’Shea-trained filly gets a significant rider change with James McDonald jumping in the saddle and all of its form has come over this distance. It appears to have a good future at the midweek level and its chances look strong again.

Don’t Doubt Marley had plenty of supports in the Denise’s Joy last start at Scone and this is a much easier target. The Gerald Ryan-trained filly has big race experience having run in the 1000 Guineas behind Stay With Me and even though it hasn’t won in some time, its chances significantly increase at this level. Blake Shinn rides and punters might get an each way price.

Harlem Lady failed to impress in rating 78 grade last start, but its win prior gives it a chance here. The Chris Waller-trained mare is dropping back in distance and the win two back came on this track. It has form around some handy types and we’re expecting a form turnaround in this.

Leg 3 – Farewell Ray Murrihy Rating 67 (1100m)

Princess Command was able to score the win at Gosford last start and Hugh Bowman in the saddle is a big positive. The Marc Connors-trained mare has won only three from 24 starts, but has plenty of experience on this track and two of those wins have come at this distance. It likes to get back in the running and flash home late, but expect a more forward position from the inside draw and it should play a part in the finish.

Navua Mist has now won two consecutive races for Chris Waller and it looks a natural short-course runner. The daughter of Exceed And Excel has strengthened nicely either side of a five-month spell and it could show up again second up. Blake Shinn gets the ride.

Kerrin McEvoy is riding in career-best form and he partners Tears In Heaven. The five-year-old is fresh up which is when it strikes form and the barrier draw of two will ensure it gets a nice position in the run. It is coming back after a bleeding attack and the odds should be in double-figure range, but it’s good enough to include.

Also include Colour Drops which faced a tough field last start and it’s a chance here based on its maiden win.

Leg 3 quaddie tips: 4, 7, 14, 15

Leg 4 – Tabcorp Rating 71 Handicap (1600m)

Rye is good enough to carry 60kg and win and its chances increase with Bowman in the saddle. The Chris Waller-trained gelding was too good for them at Hawkesbury last start and it drops down in grade for this. It can be a little inconsistent which annoys punters, but it’s a must-include here.

Song And Laughter has won twice at Warwick Farm and it drops down another grade here. The Jim Litt-trained mare ran in rating 93 grade two starts back before finishing fourth in rating 78 last start. Dropping down to this level will suit even more and the apprentice claim brings it back to a suitable weight. Win chance and the odds could be appealing.

Thewayweare is still rising through the distances this campaign, but the 1600m will suit much better than the 1400m did last start. The John Thompson-trained gelding put three wins together over 2000m and above last campaign and the this distance won’t be too short this start. Could be at handy odds and increase the quaddie payout.

Leg 4 quaddie tips: 1, 4, 10
