Jockeys’ premiership to go down to wire

A double at Sandown has moved Dwayne Dunn into a share of the lead in the Melbourne Jockeys’ Premiership.

Dunn joined Craig Williams at the top of the table after scoring aboard Quilate and Tucanchoo on Wednesday.

They have each ridden 52 metropolitan winners this season and are five wins clear of Damien Oliver who is sidelined with suspension until June 4.

The trio fought a thrilling finish to last year’s premiership race with Oliver successful, winning his 10th title.

Dunn will get the chance to take the lead outright at Caulfield on Saturday with eight rides while Williams heads to Morphettville for the South Australian Derby meeting.

Williams is chasing a fifth title while Dunn is after his first.
