HorseBetting’s Queensland form analyst brings you his best bets and quaddie numbers for Ipswich’s eight-race metropolitan meeting on Wednesday. The track is currently rated a Good 4, the rail is out 10m for the entire course, and the first race is set to jump at 12:33pm AEST.

Best Bet at Ipswich: Moreton Bay

In a day we struggled to get too enthused about, Brisbane’s premier trainer saddles up Moreton Bay in what looks a winnable race for the three-year-old filly. The daughter of Cable Bay has had two starts to date, placing fourth on debut and then finishing behind Top Bird at the Gold Coast on August 7. She stays at 1100m on Wednesday and gets the services of gun apprentice Kyle Wilson-Taylor, which is a big plus. From barrier three, Moreton Bay is likely to get every chance up on the pace and will take some serious running down.

Best BetRace 1 – Moreton Bay (#7) $1.80 with Sportsbet

Next Best at Ipswich: Dry Times

The Toby & Trent Edmonds-trained Dry Times has had five starts so far in his career, winning one and placing second and third on two other occasions, so he is always thereabouts. The four-year-old entire was heavily backed at the Gold Coast two starts ago, and while he ran very well, he couldn’t quite get past the talented Camerlengo over 1200m. He again put in a good performance at Doomben on August 11, running home well into fourth behind Kingscote and Schweid As in Class 1 company with 57.5kg. The Spirit Of Boom stallion stays at that grade and rises only 0.5kg in weight, while stepping out in trip will suit in a much easier race. We’d be surprised if he doesn’t justify favouritism today.

Next BestRace 6 – Dry Times (#1) $1.70 with Sportsbet

Ipswich Value Bet: Hallsidehankypanky

Hallsidehankypanky is an 800m specialist, winning five races from eight starts at the short trip, so she has to be respected in this. The four-year-old mare loves this course as well, winning twice and placing twice in five goes over the Ipswich 800m. The Jason Edwards runner has won three times on Soft tracks, while in her only start on a Heavy surface she was beaten a long way in Open Company over 1000m, so she can be completely forgiven for that run. Zac Lloyd claims 3kg, so she will carry 58kg from barrier six, which should see her bounce straight onto the lure and be very hard to run down.

Best ValueRace 3 – Hallsidehankypanky (#1) $9 with Sportsbet
