Insensata gets revenge over Just Dreaming

Insensata has exacted revenge over Just Dreaming in another close finish at Rosehill to keep trainer Jason Coyle’s run of winter winners coming.

After being beaten a head when they last met on June 17, Insensata ($5) got the better of the Kris Lees-trained Just Dreaming ($2.90 fav) on Saturday by slightly more in the 1500m Handicap race.

After gaining an inside run, Insensata beat her rival by a long head with the pair more than three lengths ahead of High Mist and Faraway Town, who also ran third and fourth two weeks ago.

“She is a nice filly on the way up,” Coyle said of Insensata.

“I know Kris Lees has some handy plans for his filly so it’s good form.

“We are just taking her race to race before deciding how far we go with her.”

Insensata’s jockey Tim Clark was impressed by her toughness.

“The other filly is hard to get past but mine just kept digging deep and hasn’t run a bad race this preparation.”

Just Dreaming’s jockey Rachel King explained to stewards the filly did not take the turn well, which allowed Insensata an inside run.

“I would rather have followed the rail,” she said.

“But she was on the wrong leg and once I straightened her up there was a gap there for the other horse.”
