Injury concerns for Yankee Rose
Former Golden Rose favourite Yankee Rose has eased to $11 for the $1 million race amid concerns about her fitness.
The ATC Sires’ Produce Stakes winner assumed favouritism when Capitalist was ruled out of the race on September 10.
She was replaced at the top of the market by Saturday’s impressive winners Divine Prophet and Omei Sword and has drifted again after pulling up sore from a below-par track gallop at the Sunshine Coast on Tuesday.
Trainer David Vandyke said the filly would undergo a full veterinary examination on Wednesday but he hoped the inflammation to a fetlock was minor.
Runner-up to Capitalist in the Slipper, Yankee Rose is on the third line of Golden Rose betting with Divine Prophet at $6 and Omei Sword at $8 alongside Impending and Star Turn.
