Ingear Set to Solidify Rodd & Gollan Strike Rate At Eagle Farm

Ingear
The Tony Gollan-trained Ingear

Ingear is getting better with every start, and is right on track ahead of Saturday’s 1200m assignment according to Michael Rodd.

The Tony Gollan-trained four-year-old mare was a dominant winner at Eagle Farm on the 21st of January in a 1000m Class 2 Plate, where she was able to control the tempo and kick clear in the straight.

This Saturday, she lines up in race seven, a 1200M Fillies & Mares Benchmark 72 where she is a $1.35 favourite for Michael Rodd.

“Her win last start was very arrogant and I’m sure she has taken a bit of improvement from that again.

“She was nice and relaxed, and I am looking forward to getting back on her on Saturday and up to 1200m which is good,” Rodd said.

The Dissident mare has won three of her 11 career starts, with two of those coming over 1200m, including a 2.25L win at this track nearly 12 months ago to the day.

“She’s a big strong thing.

“She is getting better with every start, so she’s not just one dimensional, so 1200m will be fine,” he said.

The Rodd & Gollan combination is flying of late, with seven winners from their last fourteen runners. Ingear is their only runner together today, before they combine again with debutant winner, Howdy Angel at the Sunshine Coast on Sunday
