Auction house William Inglis has selected dual Group 1 winner In Her Time as its Everest runner.

In Her Time is the latest horse confirmed for the $14 million Everest with the Kris Lees-trained mare to run for auction house William Inglis.

The winner of the 2018 Galaxy, In Her Time was unplaced last year at her second start for Lees after being transferred from Ben Smith.

She has since won the Lightning Stakes and Lees says she is in light work and will return to his stable in around a month.

In Her Time joins Santa Ana Lane (TAB), Classique Legend (Bon Ho/Carmel Begg), Pierata (Aquis) and Sunlight (Max Whitby group).

Inglis managing director Mark Webster said the company was thrilled to have a runner of her quality.

“Our representative is a graduate of the Inglis Classic Sale,” Webster said.

“We’re delighted to be partnering up with trainer Kris Lees and owners Peter Brown and Orbis Bloodstock.

“She’s a star of the track. She’s represented the company with distinction for many years now and we can’t wait to team up with her ahead of and for The Everest.”

Lees said In Her Time would go to The Everest on October 19 relatively fresh.

“We’re very confident she can race up to her best on Everest Day,” he said.

“We’re very grateful to Inglis for her to be representing them this year and we feel at her best, she’s most competitive against the best sprinters in the country which she proved again only two starts back when winning the Lightning.

“She’s been back in work around 10 days. She’s done some light work on the treadmill and we’ll start stepping her workload up in the next month or so when she’ll return to Newcastle where we’ll then decide on a first-up run.

“She’ll likely resume in The Shorts (Sept 12).

“It certainly makes things easier once you’ve secured a slot earlier, we can just target The Everest and get her there in the best possible way.

“She does race quite well on the fresh side so she may only have one run into it, we’ll make that decision closer to the race.”
