How 12 horses made it to the $10m Everest

The 12 runners in the Everest (1200m) at Randwick have collectively won millions of dollars and multiple titles.

CHAUTAUQUA (Brenton Advulla/Michael, Wayne & John Hawkes)

* Saddlecloth No.1 and barrier 5 for Greg Ingham’s GPI Racing slot, has won 13 of 30 starts totalling $8,376,935

* The seven-year-old gelding is a six-time Group One race winner and claimed his third TJ Smith Stakes in April

VEGA MAGIC (Craig Williams/David & Ben Hayes & Tom Dabernig)

* No.2 and barrier 10 for Max Whitby Syndicate slot, has won 12 of 17 starts totalling $2,034,050

* The five-year-old gelding has never raced in Sydney but won his past four races including G1 Memsie Stakes

REDZEL (Kerrin McEvoy/Peter & Paul Snowden)

* No.3 and barrier 4 for James Harron Bloodstock, has won nine of 19 starts totalling $1,395,250

* The five-year-old gelding clocked an 1100m-track record to win G2 The Shorts at Randwick on September 16

REDKIRK WARRIOR (Regan Bayliss/David & Ben Hayes & Tom Dabernig)

* No.4 and barrier 3 for The Star Casino slot, has won six of 13 starts totalling $1,384,020

* The British-bred seven-year-old gelding has no wet-track form but is highly regarded by the stable

CLEARLY INNOCENT (Hugh Bowman/Kris Lees)

* No.5 and barrier 6 for Damion Flower’s Jadeskye Racing slot, has won nine of 17 starts totalling $1,238,600

* The six-year-old gelding came third in the Premiere Stakes and will be ridden by the regular jockey of Winx

DEPLOY (Joshua Parr/Gerald Ryan)

* No.6 and barrier 7 for Chris Waller Racing slot, has won eight of 16 starts totalling $597,985

* The five-year-old gelding has broken track records at his past two starts, Randwick 1200m and Rosehill 1300m

FELL SWOOP (Tye Angland/Matthew Dale)

* No.7 and barrier 8 for Inglis slot, has won nine of 25 starts totalling $1,641,670

* The six-year-old gelding has had no luck since autumn but was one of the first to be selected for The Everest

BRAVE SMASH (Jamie Spencer/Darren Weir)

* No.8 and barrier 9 for Australian Turf Club slot, has won three of 16 starts totalling $923,373

* The former Japanese five-year-old horse often places and won the Listed Macleod Stakes at Moonee Valley

ENGLISH (Blake Shinn/Gai Waterhouse & Adrian Bott)

* No.9 and barrier 12 for TAB slot, has won five of 19 starts totalling $2,659,700

* The five-year-old mare won back-to-back Challenge Stakes, came second in the TJ Smith and Premiere Stakes

SHE WILL REIGN (Corey Brown/Gary Portelli)

* No.10 and barrier 2 for Yu Long Investments slot, has won five of six starts totalling $2,859,150

* The three-year-old filly and Golden Slipper winner ran second in the only race she did not win

HOUTZEN (Jeff Lloyd/Toby Edmonds)

* No.11 and barrier 1 for Aquis Farm slot, has won five of seven starts totalling $1,559,600

* The three-year-old filly was beaten as Golden Slipper favourite but won the Magic Millions

TULIP (Tim Clark/David & Ben Hayes & Tom Dabernig)

* No.12 and barrier 11 for Coolmore slot, has won two of eight starts totalling $593,875

* The third three-year-old filly in the race, she’s a regular placegetter and was third in the Golden Slipper (1200m)
