Best Bet at Happy Valley: Fun Elite
Fun Elite was outclassed in his latest outing at Sha Tin on June 8, laying out at a crucial stage to finish 1.8 lengths off Majestic Express. He should appreciate dropping back into Class 4 company, however, with the son of Brazen Beau boasting a consistent record of two wins and two minor placings across his eight starts. The tight-turning city circuit should be no issue as Zac Purton goes in search of cover from gate seven, and provided Fun Elite can get a soft run in transit, expect this Benno Yung-trained gelding to add a third win to his resume.
Best Bet
Race 3 – #1 Fun Elite (7)
4yo Gelding | T: Benno Yung | J: Zac Purton (61kg)
Next Best at Happy Valley: Wrote A New Page
Wrote A New Page picked up a much-deserved maiden victory at this course and distance on June 4. He sustained a tough run after sitting three wide without cover throughout, still managing to get the upper hand in the concluding stages. He only cops a 1.5kg penalty for that performance, and with Harry Bentley likely to get a superior run from stall seven, Wrote A New Page should get every chance to claim back-to-back wins.
Next Best
Race 7 – #3 Wrote A New Page (7)
3yo Colt | T: Danny Shum | J: Harry Bentley (60.5kg)
Best Value at Happy Valley: Bling Bling Genius
Bling Bling Genius was well supported with online bookmakers at Sha Tin on May 25, and although he dropped out of the contest, he had clear excuses when chopped out at the 200m marker. He attacks Happy Valley for the first time and should be suited dropping back to 1200m, with the Douglas Whyte camp applying blinkers to keep his mind on the job. Antoine Hamelin will look for cover from barrier six, and with Bling Bling Genius set to smoke the pipe in behind a strong tempo, watch for this guy to be launching late at the each-way odds.
Best Value
Race 2 – #11 Bling Bling Genius (6)
4yo Gelding | T: Douglas Whyte | J: Antoine Hamelin (54kg)
