Group 1 Tatts Tiara betting guide, form and free tips, June 24

Tatts Tiara betting

THE Group 1 Tatts Tiara runs this Saturday at Doomben where the $500,000 feature highlights the quality racing action.

A full field of sprinters will line up for the Brisbane winter carnival feature for fillies and mares, which includes the likes of In Her Time, Bonny O’Reilly and Eckstein.

There’s plenty of great action across the card at Doomben, including the Tattersall’s Cup, Crystal Slipper and the W.J. Healy Stakes.

Punters will get enhanced odds for every runner in the Tatts Tiara with Ladbrokes.com.au.

Race 1 – Stav, Abby And Matt With O’Sher’s Plate (1350m)

Privlaka didn’t fire on this track last start, but punters should expect a better run in this class. The Robert Heathcote-trained gelding won in this grade four back before placing in consecutive runs behind some nice types. It has won three from 12 starts on this track and it only needs luck to bounce back from its last start.

Glendara is much better than its form suggests and punters could get good each way odds. The six-year-old finished ninth at Gold Coast last start in June, but it saves its best runs for Doomben and it has form at Magic Millions level. This isn’t the strongest field ever assembled, so consider at a nice price.

Race 1 tip: Glendara to place at CrownBet.com.au

Race 2 – Winning Edge 2YO Stakes (1350m)

Curdled has looked good in Sydney this campaign without winning and it should be able to handle this grade. The Peter Robl-trained two-year-old has placed in four of its five starts and it has been well-backed at every start. This is harder, but it should improve with more racing under its belt.

Cellargirl couldn’t have been more impressive when winning the Bill Carter last start over a talented field. The Kelly Schweida-trained filly has shown great form to date with a fourth behind Houtzen at Doomben and although it didn’t run well in the Magic Millions, it all came up a bit soon and it’s set to assert its class again.

Race 2 tip: Cellargirl to win at CrownBet.com.au

Race 3 – Furnaces @ Aquis Farm Crystal Slipper (1200m)

Absolutlypositivly was an impressive winner on debut at Gold Coast and it could maintain its unbeaten record here. The Guy-trained filly scored by 1.8 lengths over Milly Muncher and that form should hold nicely. Aquis Farm own this runner so they could win their own race.

Sista Act is only a smaller-framed filly, but it could turn consistent form into winning form. The Liam Birchley-trained filly went close behind Initialize last start and it stays down in the weights for this which is ideal. It should be tough to beat from an inside draw.

Race 3 tip: Absolutlypositivly to win at Ladbrokes.com.au

Race 4 – Singapore Airlines Plate (1350m)

Rare Occurrence is a quality type which has placed at its last two starts. The Stuart Kendrick-trained filly placed in behind the talented Burning Passion and All Over Bosanova, so that form reads well and it should find this easier. It’s a four time winner at this track and punters will likely come for it.

Eat My Trust hasn’t done anything wrong in five career starts which includes three wins and two placings. The Matthew Dunn-trained gelding is coming off an easy win at Gold Coast and although this will be its biggest test to date, it looks more than capable of winning.

Race 4 tip: Rare Occurrence to win at Bet365.com

Race 5 – Carlton Mid Tattersall’s Cup (2200m)

Tucanchoo was beaten on its merits at Rosehill last start, but there are fewer class rivals in this. The Hawkes-trained seven-year-old fought nicely behind Supply And Demand at its last two starts and it gets in better here on the weights. Most of these rivals are from lower classes and it could capitalise.

Rudy deserves a winning turn after going close behind the likes of Single Gaze and Chocante. This race should be a tactical affair which suits Rudy and the five-time Doomben winner will get an easy run from the inside barrier. Carrying 59.5kg is tough, but it deserves that weight.

Race 5 tip: Tucanchoo to win ($2.25) at Sportsbet.com.au

Race 6 – G.H. Mumm Open Quality (1615m)

[rmOC_events_list event_ids=1135352_06]

Religify will enjoy the good track conditions after winning easily last start on this track. The Chris Waller-trained gelding went to the front and kicked strongly to score its 12th career win and it meets an easier field here. Carrying 60.5kg shouldn’t be too tough considering this distance and Hugh Bowman will likely push forward from the wide draw.

Payroll could start here instead of the Tatts Tiara and it looks a good chance. The Richard Laming-trained mare has won only three from 17 starts, but it hit the line hard last start at Doomben and a repeat could take it close. Keep an eye on betting moves.

Race 6 tip: Religify to win at CrownBet.com.au

Race 7 – Sky Racing Tattersalls’s Tiara (1350m)

[rmOC_events_list event_ids=1135352_07]

Eckstein is a horse for the future after winning the Glenlogan Park Stakes in impressive fashion. The Kurt Goldman-trained three-year-old drove hard on the heavy track and despite being unbeaten in the wet, it can handle dry tracks as well. It will head back from the draw and finish with a big burst again.

In Her Time has been an underrated type this season, but the favourite has caught attention this time around. The Ben Smith-trained mare finished second in the Group 1 Stradbroke Handicap last time at the races and the Breeders’ Classic winner looks a big chance to go one better. Drawing barrier 16 has hurt its chances, but it will pay to follow this four-year-old.

Race 7 tip: In Her Time to win ($3.60) at Ladbrokes.com.au

Race 8 – W.J. Healy Stakes (1200m)

Deploy has been bombproof this season with four wins from its last five starts. The Gerald Ryan-trained four-year-old won the Moreton Cup at this track last start when beating Dothraki and its form prior was stellar. It looks one of the better betting chances this Saturday.

Too Good To Refuse ran well for second behind Miss Gunpowder last start and it should improve off that run. The Desleigh Forster-trained four-year-old will be having its 13th start on this track and that experience will take it a long way. It could be one for each way punters.

Race 8 tip: Deploy to win at Ladbrokes.com.au
