French Emotion files to the line to take out the Gold Distaff
THE Chris Waller-trained French Emotion has taken out the Vobis Gold Distaff after pinching an inside run on the fence to salute as a $2.10 favourite at Sportsbet.com.au.
Consistent performer Diamond Baroness took the lead at the 400m mark but was quickly headed by French Emotion on the inside, which was able to hold out a fast finishing Whistle Baby ($1.80 at WilliamHill.com.au).

Huge outsider Devilishly finished off well to return $4.50 at Crownbet.com.au.
It looked like the favourite would not have a clear path to the front as the race entered the latter stages, but after Diamond Baroness slightly shifted into the middle of the track the run presented.

The win came on the back of a huge push from punters, which saw the highly fancied runner firm right into $2.10 at the jump.
