Four fillies to face mares in Empire Rose

Group 1 winner Seabrook is set to face the mares in the Empire Rose.

Four three-year-old fillies are set to line up against the older mares in a capacity field for the Group One Empire Rose Stakes at Flemington.

Group One-winning fillies Oohood, Seabrook and Amphitrite and Thousand Guineas runner-up Fundamentalist are all acceptors in the field of 16 plus one emergency for Saturday’s 1600m race.

Fillies have won the race for the past two years.

The 2016 winner I Am A Star is back for another crack at the race and has barrier three while the Leon and Troy Corstens-trained Mamzelle Tess is the emergency.
