Cash Crisis finished fifth last time out at Bendigo, but prior to that it had not missed a placing this preparation. The horse drops back in class and should be far too good for this field.

Race 1 tip: Cash Crisis to win ($2.25 at Neds)

Race 2 – Maiden (900m)

Skiffle is the best of an ordinary lot here. Since returning on November 25 the horse has not missed a place, being within striking distance on both occasions. A peak performance is expected third-up and given its form reads better than most we are expecting the horse to break through here.

Race 2 tip: Skiffle to win ($5.50 at Crownbet)

Race 3 – Maiden (1200m)

Bay Of Modena has missed the placings just once in its career to date. The last-start second at Goulburn was encouraging and we expect it to be right in the mix on Thursday.

Bay Of Modena is the next best bet of the day at Corowa

Race 3 tip: Bay Of Modena to win ($2.50 at Neds)

Race 4 – Class 1 (1600m)

Plenary ran well at Albury on December 16 after a number of ordinary runs, and the penny finally seems to have dropped for the three-year-old. The Stratum filly gets a decent gate to jump from and we are backing it in for a big run.

Race 4 tip: Plenary to win ($4.20 at William Hill)

Race 5 – Benchmark 54 (1400m)

La Rita has placed in its last two outings and while those two weren’t the strongest races, you cannot fault the form. It is the horse’s debut at this distance, but we think it will manage the step-up in journey well.

Race 5 tip: La Rita to win ($11 at Neds)

Race 6 – Class 2 (1300m)

El Venetian should easily beat this field. The horse has been racing in a much higher grade than this, and almost exclusively in Sydney. It is a much better galloper than the rest of this lot.

El Venetian is the best bet of the day at Corowa

Race 6 tip: El Venetian to win ($1.55 at CrownBet)

Race 7 – Class 1 (1000m)

Triple Shot has been in terrific recent form and we’re anticipating another strong run after a second placing at Albury. The horse has placed before at Corowa and we are backing it to again perform at the track.

Race 7 tip: Triple Shot to win ($4.20 at Neds)
