Race 1 – Melbourne Cup Tour Trophy (1200m)

[rmOC_events_list event_ids=1182779_01]

Hear The Chant was great first-up in a BM84FM3U and looms as a winner here. The mare should improve on that run, and while it is back against the boys, there’s enough to suggest it will be able to handle that with ease.

Race 1 tip: Hear The Chant to win ($2.75 at Neds)

Race 2 – Open Handicap (1400m)

[rmOC_events_list event_ids=1182779_02]

Hayes, Hayes and Dabernig runner Muraahib finished within half a length of competitor Scarecrow, and comes into this 3kg better off than its last-start conqueror. We think that will make all the difference here.

Race 2 tip: Muraahib to win ($8 at William Hill)

Race 3 – Hoppegarten Racing Trophy (1100m)

[rmOC_events_list event_ids=1182779_03]

Godolphin filly Demerara is the clear horse to beat here. The three-year-old resumed in stellar fashion last time out, winning by two lengths in a BM783 race at the Valley. Demerara should only get better from here.

Race 3 tip: Demerara to win ($2.45 at Sportsbet)

Race 4 – Tbv Thoroughbred Breeders Stakes (1200m)

[rmOC_events_list event_ids=1182779_04]

Krone has been progressing well since its narrow debut defeat at the Valley. The Weir elect went on to place before breaking through in stylish fashion in Morphettville. This race appears within Krone’s grasp.

Race 4 tip: Krone to win ($6.50 at Sportsbet)

Race 5 – Blamey Stakes (1600m)

[rmOC_events_list event_ids=1182779_05]

Tosen Stardom returns to the scene of its biggest career wins to date and looks hard to hold out. The horse has a third-up win in the past and was less than a length away from Brave Smash in the Futurity Stakes three weeks ago.

Race 5 tip: Tosen Stardom to win ($2.25 at William Hill)

Race 6 – Benchmark 80 (2000m)

[rmOC_events_list event_ids=1182779_06]

He Ekscels is hunting a hat-trick and is right in the mix to do so. Last start at Sale the Richard Laming runner was brilliant, winning by just under a length and a half in a BM70 race. This is a step-up, but within He Ekscels’ grasp.

Race 6 tip: He Ekscels to win ($5 at Neds)

Race 7 – March Stakes (1400m)

[rmOC_events_list event_ids=1182779_07]

Theanswermyfriend comes into this race fresh and off the back of a strong trial performance. The horse will roll forward from gate eight and if runs and track and distance are any indication, it will be very hard to beat.

Race 7 tip: Theanswermyfriend to win ($4.60 at Crownbet)

Race 8 – Benchmark 80 (1600m)

[rmOC_events_list event_ids=1182779_08]

We’re tipping Top Of The Range here. The gelding was dominant last start at a slightly lower grading than this and should be fitter following that second-up run. We’re confident the four-year-old has enough class to overcome this field.

Race 8 tip: Top Of The Range to win ($4.40 at Neds)

Race 9 – Benchmark 80 (1200m)

[rmOC_events_list event_ids=1182779_09]

Handsome Thief has been competitive at levels graded higher than this so the Weir runner should appreciate the drop in class. From a good draw the horse will be in the running early and hard to hold out.

Race 9 tip: Handsome Thief to win ($5 at Neds)
