First Frankel yearlings at Easter sale

The first yearlings by Frankel to be sold in Australia will go through the ring on the second day of the Easter Yearling sale in Sydney.

The unbeaten European champion has served select books of mares in England to southern hemisphere time since he began stud duties in 2013.

The sale began on Tuesday with a half brother to champion mare Winx fetching $2.3 million and three other yearlings selling for $1 million or more.

The average price on the first day was $291,995, a slight increase on the corresponding session last year.
