Fallen For You returns home a winner for Les Ross

QUEENSLAND trainer Les Ross is one of the battlers of the racing industry and that was no more evident than when Fallen For You scored at the Gold Coast on Saturday.

Ross was the primary trainer for Mishani Enterprises, which also scored a Saturday win with With A Promise for Ben Currie at Ipswich, but his team was taken off him and split up between numerous trainers in the state.

It wasn’t until a few weeks ago when three-year-old filly Fallen For You was returned back to Ross and for immediate success.

“About 12 months ago he (Mike Crooks) took all the horses back,” Ross told HorseBetting.com.au. “I used to train all his horses, but he spread them all around.

“He gave Fallen For You back to me about three weeks ago, so it was its first run back for me in nearly a year.”

The daughter of Show A Heart was a $52,000 purchase from the 2015 Inglis Premier Sale and despite having won only one start from 14 attempts, which came in the Classic Holiday Maiden Plate at Gold Coast on Saturday, its eight placings have attributed to over $117,000 in earnings.

“She pulled up good. She’s always shown a bit of promise this filly and she lived up to its yesterday,” Ross said.

Fallen For You has placed behind the likes of Rare Occurrence and Stole The Show on good tracks, but it has found its feet best on the rain-affected tracks.

“They (wet tracks) have certainly helped her,” Ross said. “She has run on the heavy and slow before and been placed.”

Ross hasn’t made any set plans with the talented filly, but punters can expect to see the Fallen For You in the city later this season.

“I’ll take her into town for the three-year-old races and see how she shapes up,” Ross added.
