Metis is looking to go one better from its previous two runs where it has finished second. The horse has made great progression on those two runs and will take a power of beating in its third-ever career start.

Race 1 tip: Metis to win ($1.70 at Crownbet)

Race 2 – Maiden Plate (1200m)

The Lawyer was uninspiring in its opening preparation, but following some sensational trials we think it can deliver first-up. The horse comes into a very winnable race and we think it can deliver a strong performance.

Race 2 tip: The Lawyer to win ($3.70 at Neds)

Race 3 – Maiden Plate (1100m)

Italia Bella comes into this race on the back of some strong trials and will be hard to hold out. In a field where nothing else really stands out, the horse can breakthrough at the fifth time of asking.

Race 3 tip: Italia Bella to win ($1.60 at Ladbrokes)

Race 4 – Class 2 Plate (1660m)

Namib won first-up on January 5 at the Sunshine Coast and we think it can improve on that run. Friday represents a rise in class but the power of the win was such that we think it can handle it well here.

Race 4 tip: Namib to win ($4.20 at Sportsbet)

Race 5 – Class 3 Handicap (1200m)

Dream Master comes into this race following a strong first-up win at the Gold Coast and we believe it goes on with the job here. The horse won by over four lengths that day, so we’re not even considering jumping off here despite drawing barrier eight.

Race 5 tip: Dream Master to win ($5 at William Hill)

Race 6 – Class 1 Plate (2240m)

[rmOC_events_list event_ids=1180331_06]

High Wind has been delivering the goods lately without breaking through for a win. The son of High Chaparral has placed three times in five outings and in a race that isn’t the strongest we think it can register a second career win.

Race 6 tip: High Wind to win ($3.10 at William Hill)

Race 7 – Benchmark 65 (1350m)

[rmOC_events_list event_ids=1180331_07]

Givus A Cuddle was terrific first-up at Toowoomba and will look to go on with it here. The horse draws wide out, but has a decent second-up record of two placings from three attempts. The place is the right play here on Givus A Cuddle.

Race 7 tip: Givus A Cuddle to place ($3 at Crownbet)

Race 8 – Benchmark 65 (1350m)

[rmOC_events_list event_ids=1180331_08]

Mr Bellagio has a great third-up record and after two placings this preparation big things will be expected of the O’lonhro gelding. The horse gets a quality gate to jump from and has a fitness edge on a number of these runners.

Race 8 tip: Mr Bellagio to win ($2.40 at Crownbet)
