Friday racing tips for Cranbourne
Eight races are set down for judgement for the first Friday of the night racing season at Cranbourne. The feature of the night is the Pinker Pinker Plate at no.6 on the card, with plenty of handy metropolitan types going around. The track has come up a Soft 6, but a further downgrade may eventuate considering the Thursday evening and Friday morning forecast. The first race will face the starter at 5:15pm AEDT.
It was hard to miss West Wind’s last-start win where she absolutely bolted in by five lengths in an all-the-way victory at this track. The 5YO mare maps to take a seat on the leaders from barrier four in a race with plenty of early speed engaged, and she has shown in her career that she is more than capable of charging home out wide. She rates highly with in-form hoop John Allen retaining the ride and looks hard to beat in the Pinker Pinker Plate.

John McArdle and Jamie Mott team up again with a 4YO mare who has had two impressive runs since coming back from a spell. Two runs ago she was a well-backed favourite on rain-affected ground and managed to win quite comfortably. She then ran into a handy type in The Gauch at Ballarat three weeks back and looks nicely placed to go on with it here in the opening leg of the quaddie. From barrier seven, she’ll look to settle midfield and may take a power of beating.

Jarrod Robinson’s 5YO gelding is on the quick five-day backup after finishing three-quarters of a length behind the impressive Influential Jack at Kyneton. He maps to take up the running from the wide barrier, and if he can match the form of his Kyneton run, he will prove hard to catch in the final race of the night.
