Cranbourne night racing form and free tips, Friday March 31

Cranbourne night tips

CRANBOURNE hosts a quality night racing meeting this Friday night and we have racing form and free tips for all eight races on the card.

The Moonee Valley night racing circuit might be finished for the season, but Friday evening punters can still bet on Cranbourne which returns with good betting fields.

Kicking the night off is a maiden plate which features some up-and-coming juveniles where some are racing for the Super VOBIS bonus.

Race 1 – Get The Best Result With O’Brien Maiden (1200m)

Cameron Diazzler is a filly by All American which finished third in a trial over 800m and the extra distance looks ideal. The Henry Dwyer stables are in good form of late and having in-form apprentice Beau Mertens in the saddle is a big positive. Expect it to be nicely-supported in the betting.

Costalot didn’t finish too far behind some nice types at Ballarat on debut. The Nigel Blackiston-trained filly was only 2.75 lengths behind the likes of Earth Angel and Holy Mind. That form should stack up well for this and it will get better with age.

Crystal Wings is from a nice family and it showed great improvement last start. The Ellerton/Zahra-trained filly finished ninth in the Maribyrnong Plate at Flemington on debut, but produced a solid effort for fourth at Moonee Valley last start. It looks to have the most improvement in this field and it should be well-backed.

Race 1 tip: Crystal Wings to win at CrownBet.com.au

Race 2 – Victorian Statewide Conveyancing Maiden (1500m)

Testa Life has rattled off four consecutive placings to open its career and it looms as a winning chance. The Nikki Burke-trained filly finished a distant second at Pakenham last start and although it finished almost five lengths from the winner, it still beat some nice types home. It went close prior and it should go close again.

Lilymorn is a talented filly for Michael Moroney which has placed at its last three starts. The Rip Van Winkle three-year-old has been well-favoured at its last two starts and although it hasn’t been able to win, there is plenty of stable confidence there. Consider off the inside draw.

Art She Quick only plugged on the slow track last start, but it has shown some speed on the dry. The John Sadler-trained filly ran a good third at Bendigo and if it can get a similar trip in transit here, it could go close at each way odds.

Race 2 tip: Lilymorn to win at Ladbrokes.com.au

Race 3 – O’Brien Real Estate Maiden (2025m)

Trouble Bound is finding it hard to cross the line first, but it’s a consistent type and punters should follow it. The John McArdle-trained gelding has placed in 12 of 22 starts, which is a good record, and it could notch its first career win. There are no superstars in this race so it looks a great chance to score.

Pat’s Lad has been nicely backed at its last two starts and that will likely be the case again. The Eric Musgrove-trained gelding finished third at Seymour earlier this month in a highweight race and it will enjoy dropping down 10kg for this. Winning a race won’t come easy, but this is the race for it.

Miss Cavatica has placed at its last two starts and it has the benefit of being trained on this track. The three-year-old has placed in one of two starts at Cranbourne, which included a third placing last time out. This isn’t any harder so consider as a place chance again.

Race 4 – O’Brien Real Estate Maiden Plate (1000m)

Yulong Xiong Ba has drawn very wide in barrier 15, but it has more upside than most in this field. The Darren Weir-trained colt finished second at its first two races before running fifth last start as the $1.45 favourite, but the wet track conditions haven’t been helping its cause. It should attract plenty of attention from punters.

Ultimate Quest improved out of sight last start when the money was on. The Brendan McCarthy-trained mare ran second at odds of $9, having previously finished last prior to that. The form reversal came on a good track which looked to be the reason and it could go well again.

Orphanali is another runner which could improve after two moderate outings. The three-year-old hasn’t come close in two outings to date, but it could give punters something to cheer about at big odds.

Race 4 tip: Yulong Xiong Ba to win at Bet365.com

Race 5 – Mypunter R64 Handicap (1500m)

Shenandoah was an impressive last start winner on this track and another good run is likely. The three-year-old for Trent Busuttin and Natalie Young turned some average form around after entering Australia by winning narrowly last time out. Its form in New Zealand was quality and it could handle this field on its day.

There’s plenty to like about Plenty To Like after a campaign which has included a win and a placing. The Stuart Webb-trained filly ran well behind Viatrix at Moonee Valley last start and it scored a one-length victory on this track two starts back. It has drawn well for this and only the big weight will stop it.

Ticked is fresh up for John O’Shea after looking the goods last campaign. The three-year-old filly won by two lengths on this track to break maiden status and it flashed home late behind Onya Keithy at Moonee Valley in December. That form is a good guide and betting support will indicate its winning chances.

Race 5 tip: Shenandoah to win at Ladbrokes.com.au

Race 6 – Browns Sawdust & Shavings C1 (1400m)

He’s Our Woody is a consistent runner for Andrew Payne which won well two back. The four-year-old has subsequently finished second behind Odeon which is good form and it gets a nice barrier for this. We’re expecting bookmakers to have it short in the betting.

Perfectly Safe looks to have more talent than most in this field after contesting some strong fields. The Lindsay Park-trained filly ran third behind Leotie last campaign and it resumed this time in with a third at Moonee Valley. It didn’t fire last start, but this looks an easier target.

So Distinct bookended a win at Mornington with two failures, but it faced a tough field last start. The locally-trained filly finished 12th in the Ethereal Stakes at Caulfield behind Eleonora, but it looks a better chance back at this level. Follow any positive betting moves.

Race 6 tip: Perfectly Safe to win at CrownBet.com.au

Race 7 – O’Brien Real Estate Casey Cup (2025m)

Table Of Wisdom looked good when winning on debut for Tony McEvoy and it finished second behind a nice type last start. The Duporth gelding won by 1.6 lengths on debut, but ran into Soju Warrior which won by almost seven lengths last time out. This should be an easier race and it will likely be well-supported in the market.

Jamieson has drawn wide in barrier 16, but it comes into this with a recent win under its belt. The Laing-trained local scored a narrow win over Testa Life last start which could be a good form guide and it only needs to get some luck in the running. This distance should suit nicely.

Cerutty is a winner of only two from 27 starts, but it’s trained by Robbie Laing who knows how to train stayers. The five-year-old ran well for third last start over a shorter distance and it has a solid chance to turn around some poor form on this track. Could be one for long shot punters.

Race 7 tip: Table Of Wisdom to win at Palmerbet.com.au

Race 8 – O’Brien Real Estate R64 (1000m)

Tricky Glen scored an easy four-length win at Ballarat two starts back and it wasn’t far behind a nice type last start. The McCarthy-trained gelding ran 1.75 lengths behind Snitty Kitty at Yarra Valley and that should be a good form guide for this.

Dungeness was a last start winner as the $1.70 favourite and another tidy effort looms. The Enver Jusufovic-trained filly scored by six lengths on the slow track and although this will be much harder, it deserves respect from bookmakers and punters alike.

Northkape wasn’t far behind a nice type last start and it’s a three-time winner on this track. The Griffiths-trained mare goes best at this distance and it gets a valuable 2kg claimer in the saddle. Should go close here.

Race 8 tip: Tricky Glen to win at Sportsbet.com.au
