El Chorrillo has recorded second placings in back-to-back races and looks ready to finally shake the maiden tag at the ninth time of asking. Last time out the horse went down as a short-priced favourite, but it remains at a distance it has never missed a placing at.

Race 1 tip: El Chorrillo to win at Sportsbet

Race 2 – Maiden Plate (1300m)

Champagne Lucy is one of the unluckiest runner in the field to still be in this grade. The horse went down by a nose in back-to-back events. The horse has dropped back to 1300m, which could prove beneficial in this event.

Race 2 tip: Champagne Lucy to win at Neds

Race 3 – Maiden Handicap (1400m)

The Charmer is the best looking runner in an ordinary field. Resuming on December 16, the horse finished second at Cranbourne over this distance. The Hayes, Hayes and Dabernig runner jumps from a great barrier and will be the galloper to beat.

Race 3 tip: The Charmer to win at Ladbrokes

Race 4 – Maiden Plate (1500m)

Captivator is second-up on Friday, where it has previously placed in the past. Upon resumption on December 20 the horse rounded out the placings in an event taken out by smart type Another Flag. We think it’s ready to peak and finally break the grade

Race 4 tip: Captivator win at Sportsbet

Race 5 – Class 1 Handicap (1500m)

Mahamedeis looks to be the best elect here. After breaking the maiden two starts back the horse made an admirable benchmark 64 debut at Bendigo, finishing within a length of the winner. The Nick Ryan runner will be hard to hold out here.

Race 5 tip: Mahamedeis to win at Sportsbet

Love In The City returns to a distance where it has won and placed second across two starts at the 1400m trip. In a race with no a lot of form to draw upon the daughter of Ilovethiscity presents as the best winning hope.

Race 6 tip: Love In The City to win at Crownbet

Race 7 – Benchmark 64 (1000m)

Fast Stryke is first-up on Friday night, where it has never missed a placing over three attempts. The horse has recorded victories at just under this grading, and we think a good resuming run is in the offing.

Race 7 tip: Fast Stryke to win at Neds

Race 8 – Benchmark 64 (1200m)

Little Bita Spunk has placed in eight-straight races. The horse has a great record at both course and distance and looms as the best winning hope. Barrier nine shouldn’t be a problem for the speedy beginner either.
