Cloud Computing springs upset in Preakness

Kentucky Derby winner Always Dreaming has finished out of the money in the Preakness Stakes with Cloud Computing running down Classic Empire in the final strides to win by a head.

Cloud Computing (13-1) was one of five fresh horses in the Preakness who didn’t run two weeks ago in the Derby.

Always Dreaming and Classic Empire duelled for most of the race before Classic Empire stuck his nose in front on the home turn.

It looked as if Classic Empire would go on to win, but Cloud Computing ran him down on the outside to give trainer Chad Brown his first win in a Triple Crown race.

Always Dreaming weakened to eighth in the 10-horse field meaning there will be no Triple Crown winner this year.

It was the second victory in the race for jockey Javier Castellano who won aboard Bernadini in 2006.
