Clipperton knows the job won’t be easy in a new environment, but is ready to accept the challenge and ride with the likes of Zac Purton and Joao Moreira.

“It will be tough at first,” Clipperton said. “All I can do is work as hard as I can and give myself every opportunity. It’s very competitive over there. You’ve got the world’s best riders over there so I’ll have to bring my ‘A’ game.

“But I’m very confident and really looking forward to it.”

Clipperton currently sits in seventh position on the Sydney premiership with 42 wins, which puts him one win ahead of Tommy Berry who has had plenty of experience riding in Hong Kong.

He has a solid book of rides at Randwick this Saturday with the Gai Waterhouse-trained Flamboyant Lass the best-backed runner at $6 with Crownbet.com.au.
