Champion Better Loosen Up dies aged 30

Champion racehorse Better Loosen Up has died of heart problems aged 30 at Living Legends near Melbourne.

The winner of eight Group One races including the 1990 Cox Plate and Japan Cup, Better Loosen Up was Australia’s Horse of the Year for that season.

Trainer David Hayes has described him as the best horse he has ever trained and his favourite.
