Free betting tips for Caulfield Guineas
The feature race on the 10-event card at Caulfield on Saturday is the Caulfield Guineas, where the best 3-year-old colts and geldings will battle it out for the lion’s share of the $2,000,000 prize pool. The field for the 2020 edition will face the starter at 4:30pm AEDT.
Mo’unga (#9)Chris Waller and Damien Oliver team up with an undefeated colt who travels south for the first time in his short career and will look to add a Group 1 to his impressive record. He put his name up in lights when returning at Newcastle in late August when flying down the centre of the track and scoring impressively. Three weeks later it was a similar story in the Dulcify Stakes when settling towards the back of the field and producing a sharp turn of foot to solidify himself as a genuine contender in the Group 1 Caulfield Guineas.
King’s Legacy (#2)With respect to the favourite, Ole Kirk, he looks like he is under the odds at the $3 mark. Hence, we have gone for King’s Legacy, who accounted for Ole Kirk when winning the Group 1 Champagne Stakes at Randwick over a mile back in the autumn. He was far from disgraced last time out in the Golden Rose when running on into third in what was a high speed race. The tempo should not be as chaotic over the mile, and that looks to suit the Snowden-trained colt.
Cambourbe (#11)There are maybe two local gallopers that can take out the 2020 Caulfield Guineas, and one of them is the Mick Price-trained Cambourne. The colt maps to find a position midfield, and if his run in the Prelude is anything to go by, the mile is something he will have no trouble in handling. He had two thoroughly impressive wins prior to that and must be included in any exotics.
