Callow suspended for careless riding

Noel Callow has been suspended for 10 meetings for careless riding on Talindert Stakes winner Ducimus.

Jockey Craig Williams fired in a protest after the Talindert saying his mount, third-placed Sanadaat, struck interference at the 250m mark as Ducimus rolled to the fence in the straight race.

Stewards dismissed the objection, given the margin was 1-3/4 lengths between the pair, but Callow was later banned after pleading guilty to a careless riding charge.

Chief steward Terry Bailey said they took into account the racing manners of Ducimus but said Callow failed to make sufficient effort to straighten him.
