Callan Murray off the mark in Hong Kong

Young South African jockey Callan Murray is off the mark in Hong Kong, riding a winner at Happy Valley at his second meeting.

Murray spent the final weeks of his apprenticeship with Lindsay Park in Victoria during the Australian summer, riding four winners.

He had five winless rides at Sha Tin on Sunday and two at Happy Valley on Wednesday, riding Master Viking to win for Tony Millard.

Last season’s champion apprentice in South Africa, Murray rode three Group One winners on Champions Day at Turffontein earlier this month.
