Bordertown best bets & form for Tuesday, January 30

SOUTH Australian racing is at Bordertown this Tuesday as the popular venue hosts an eight race card.

Bordertown is one of two race meets that is on free to air television, so there will be plenty of focus on the SA card.

Let’s get right into it.

Tamara Marie will be challenging here. The horse has finished second in three of its last five starts and is by far the most experienced runner in the field.

Race 1 tip: Tamara Marie to win at William Hill

Race 2 – Maiden (1200m)

Press On has not missed a placing across three starts this preparation and has been making headway every start. The mare gets the right race here and should be delivering at the sixth time of asking.

Race 2 tip: Press On to win at Neds

Race 3 – Benchmark 56 (1300m)

Desert Duel finally broke through at the tenth start first-up, and should be racing well fresh again on Tuesday. The horse won well at Mildura on November 7 and should relish racing after the break.

Race 3 tip: Desert Duel to win at Neds

Race 4 – Benchmark 80 (2000m)

[rmOC_events_list event_ids=1180449_04]

Evenmoreaction will attempt to lead and should be able to dictate from the front. The horse drops in grade, but has placed in two of its last three races. In a smaller field Evenmoreaction could run its own race and win this as the lamp lighter.

Race 4 tip: Evenmoreaction to win at William Hill

Race 5 – Benchmark 72 (1300m)

[rmOC_events_list event_ids=1180449_05]

Never Without You will be the horse to beat here. The Bon Hoffa gelding has won two of its last three runs, with the one failure coming in Adelaide. In a seven race field it can spear forward from the wider alley and win it from the leading division.

Race 5 tip: Never Without You to win at Crownbet

Race 6 – Class 2 Handicap (2000m)

We’re giving Bridgy Lass a shot at redemption, Following the horse’s ordinary run at Strathalbyn on January 17. The Reward For Effort mare finished dead-last on that day, but the run before that at Penola was so strong we are backing it in to make it two wins from three starts.

Race 6 tip: Bridgy Lass to win at William Hill

Race 7 – Benchmark 60 (1100m)

[rmOC_events_list event_ids=1180449_07]

Visual Image should progress through its grades quickly. The horse won well at Penola last-start two weeks ago, and if six-year-old holds out well from the inside draw it will be incredibly hard to beat.

Race 7 tip: Visual Image to win at Crownbet

Race 8 – Benchmark 60 (1550m)

[rmOC_events_list event_ids=1180449_08]

Iamthekey should close it out in winning fashion for us. In its last four races the horse has won once and finished second three times. The Reward For Effort gelding will need to overcome barrier nine, but the form cannot be faulted.

Race 8 tip: Iamthekey to win at Crownbet
