Race 1 – Mornington Cup Prelude (2000m)

Bedford has been in stellar form this campaign and will look to add a fourth win at the seventh attempt this preparation. The horse is undefeated at both the track and the distance and will be the horse to beat.

Race 1 tip: Bedford to win ($4.20 at William Hill)

Race 2 – Heritage Autumn Classic (1800m)

Astoria was terrific resuming at Caulfield, finishing third in a tough race on February 10. The horse will be fitter from that effort and has a great second-up record of a win and a second placing from two attempts.

Race 2 tip: Astoria to win ($3.70 at Neds)

Race 3 – Zeditave Stakes (1200m)

We love what Prevailing Winds brings to the racetrack and we feel a drop in trip will be the tonic to see it returning to the winner’s circle. The Weir-trained galloper has three wins and a second placing from six attempts at 1200m, and we think it can add a fourth.

Race 3 tip: Prevailing Winds to win ($5 at Sportsbet)

Race 4 – Angus Armanasco Stakes (1400m)

Smart Coupe was beaten by a tardy getaway last-time out and if it launches with them on Saturday it will take this race out. The filly is full of class and we’re certain it will become a group performer in the future.

Race 4 tip: Smart Coupe to win ($4.40 at Sportsbet)

Race 5 – Mannerism Stakes (1400m)

Silent Sedition is second-up after a decent first-up run on February 10. The horse has two wins and two placings from five attempts at this point in the preparation and has two wins at the distance. Back it in.

Race 5 tip: Silent Sedition to win ($2.15 at William Hill)

Race 6 – Futurity Stakes (1400m)

Brave Smash delivered a strong run last time out in the CF Orr Stakes, and we think it can win here third-up. With fitness on its side the horse should be ready to win.

Race 6 tip: Brave Smash to win ($3.50 at William Hill)

Race 7 – Blue Diamond Stakes (1200m)

We’ve been on the Long Leaf bandwagon for some time now and we’re not jumping off now as the biggest race of its career approaches. The horse smashed the field first-up at Caulfield on January 27 to remain undefeated over three runs. We’re backing it to extend the winning streak to four.

Race 7 tip: Long Leaf to win ($6.50 at Crownbet)

Race 8 – Oakleigh Plate (1100m)

Snitty Kitty has a horror draw here but it is a quality runner that can overcome. The horse has two wins and a second placing from three second-up attempts and the rock-bottom weight of 53.5kg will be a huge benefit.

Race 8 tip: Snitty Kitty to win ($9.50 at Crownbet)

Race 9 – Peter Young (1800m)

Hartnell returned in great order in the CF Orr Stakes and we think the old boy can continue the great form here. These races are the Godolphin runner’s bread and butter, and we believe it can go back-to-back in the final event on the card.

Race 9 tip: Hartnell to win ($3.30 at William Hill)
