Betfair increase takeout on Australian racing

Vic racingGLOBAL bookmaking giant Betfair will pay a higher commission on any winning bet placed at Randwick, Doomben and Belmont this Saturday after changes to Betfair’s pricing structure came to fruition on Tuesday.

Betfair have increased the take-out rate on all New South Wales, Queensland, Western Australia and ACT races, giving punters betting in Victoria a better deal than the rest of the country.

Under the new pricing scale, which began earlier this week, Betfair will increase the commission rate on winning bets from 6.5 percent to eight per cent.

Winning bets in Western Australia will also increase to seven per cent.

Victorian racing has made big changes to its structure this year and it appears to be paying off. Punters betting on Victorian thoroughbred racing will have the commission rate lowered by half-a-percent to six percent.

The news is also good for South Australian, Tasmanian and the Northern Territory racing as their commission will have a take-out rate of six percent.

These changes have arisen due to the fees each racing body charges Betfair, but unless you’re punting on Victorian racing, you’re getting a rough deal and we’re expecting more punters to joint the likes of Sportsbet, CrownBet.com.au and WilliamHill.com.au.
