Best fixed odds tips for Moonee Valley, Warwick Farm and Doomben

BETTING on fixed odds is a guaranteed way to ensure the price you want is locked in, and there is a host of good betting opportunities at the three major thoroughbred meetings on Wednesday.

Although we’re in the middle of winter and the rain has been a detrimental factor for punters, the fields on offer at Moonee Valley, Warwick Farm and Doomben have stood up incredibly well.

We’re confident we can lead punters to plenty of success and all you need is an account with Crownbet.com.au to get the best fixed odds value. Crownbet is offering a bonus bet of up to $50 if your horse runs second in any of the last four races at Moonee Valley.

Moonee Valley fixed odds tips

Race 1: Athena Lass ($4)

The Hayes/Dabernig-trained filly has been one of the best-backed runners of the day. After opening up at $6 at Crownbet, the daughter of Snitzel is now paying $4 which still represents good fixed odds value. The impressive trial winner carries only 54kg for this and we expect its win price to drop further.

The dangers in the race come from both Streets Of Liberty ($3.40) which has won its last two starts and also Cohesion ($4.80) which has Blue Diamond form from its three race day efforts.

Race 3: Karpacz ($5)

This Michael Moroney-trained gelding was an impressive winner by four lengths on debut at Echuca. It faces a rise in class here, but Ballymore Stables is confident about its chances of remaining unbeaten.

“He won really well at his first start and has progressed nicely since,” Moroney said. “He did everything right, travelled beautifully and when the split came I thought he put them away pretty easily.

“It’s something I don’t often do, come straight to town after winning a maiden, but I do think this horse is capable of coping with (the) rise in class.”

That’s good enough for us and the $5 at Crownbet is a fair price.

Race 6: Petite’s Reward ($6.50)

This is a strong field with the likes of Gun Case ($3.50) and The Dynamo ($3.90) dominating the market, but the value is with Petite’s Reward at $6.50.

The Brendan McCarthy-trained filly brings a different form line into the race as opposed to Gun Case and The Dynamo which raced against each other last start. This three-year-old filly is a three-time winner at Moonee Valley and it has wet-track form.

The current fixed odds price of $6.50 and $2.30 for the place is the best value in the race.

Race 7: Magicus ($2)

Even though Magicus is paying only $2, that’s better value than what is currently being offered with other bookmakers.

The Chris Waller-trained gelding looks to be one of the better bets of the day after showing good fight last time out. The four-year-old raced wide on a hot tempo at Caulfield, but showed enough toughness to battle on for a close fourth.

It’s form prior was impressive and considering its price has been as low as $1.90, the $2 is good fixed odds value.

Race 9: Dulverton ($3.10)

We’re expecting a two-way betting war between Dulverton and Maraudamiss ($3.20), but we give the advantage to the Robert Smerdon-trained Dulverton.

The three-year-old filly was a last start winner by 4.75 lengths in rating 70 grade and all of its form prior came against top quality opposition. The daughter of Commands ran in the Magic Millions Roses and then the Queensland Oaks, and despite running poorly in those races, this is much easier.

Horse on the rise and the $3.10 is the best price punters should get with Crownbet.

Warwick Farm odds and tips

Warwick Farm hosts a seven-race card on Wednesday and we have found three horses at great each way value. On a day where there are no short-priced favourites at Warwick Farm, punters should look towards the mid-range horses which are overdue for a win.

Race 3: Antonio Giuseppe ($6 at Sportsbet.com.au)

This former New Zealand-trained gelding is now with Chris Waller and it has since trialled well after arriving in Australia. The three-year-old was a winner on debut at Avondale by 2.8 lengths and it took on some strong fields in two starts since.

It ran fourth at Ellerslie behind Ryker which has stakes form before taking on the smart types in the Hallmark Mile where it finished sixth behind Valley Girl which has subsequently performed well in Australia.

Drawing barrier nine is a negative factor, but this field isn’t strong and it’s bred to cope with the track conditions.

Race 5: Think Aloud ($6)

It’s not easy to back a horse with a form line of 34449, but Think Aloud is nearing a win and this is the right race for it.

The James Cummings-trained mare didn’t have much luck last start when it was caught wide and going on its form prior, the $6 looks a great price. It finished fourth in three consecutive starts, but it finished under a length behind Sahara Chill two starts back on this track and its only career win came on a slow track.

Very even field, but the $6 at Crownbet represents good fixed odds value.

Race 6: Our Ventura ($4.60)

Our Ventura is another Kiwi raider which loves running on wet tracks. The Richard Collett-trained mare flashed home late on this track last start and another run at the mile will suit it perfectly.

The four-year-old has had four starts on a heavy track for one win and two placings. Punters have already jumped on board with Our Ventura which opened up at $4.80, drifted to $5, but has since firmed into $4.60.

Wednesday Doomben specials

Fine weather is on the cards for Doomben, but the track is still rated as soft. We have found two specials which look great winning chances at Doomben.

Race 4: Martial Art ($3.90)

Martial Art is drifting in the market which would usually concern us, but not in this situation. Most of the money is coming for Brazen Moss ($2.70), but it has been a bookmakers dream this season and we’re not falling for the trap.

Martial Art is the much better betting proposition at $3.90 after running home well in the Sunshine Coast Guineas last start. The Geoff Burns-trained gelding drops down 4kg for this to 53kg and that’s a massive 7kg advantage over Brazen Moss.

Take the $3.90 available at Crownbet as the smart money should come late.

Race 6: Sharpe Hussler ($2.65)

The Bradley Smith-trained gelding won in this situation when fresh up last campaign and we see no reason as to why it can’t repeat the dose.

The four-year-old is a three-time winner from 12 starts with one of those coming on this track four starts back. It runs well fresh up and it arguably could have won four races straight with some luck.

It opened at $2.75 and has steadily dropped in the market. The $2.65 is still a good price and it looks a logical Doomben quaddie anchor.
