Race 1 – Maiden (2400m)

Comics is improving with every run this preparation and looks set for a big run here. After back-to-back sixths the four-year-old delivered a strong third placing behind Danesai.

Race 1 tip: Comics to win ($9 at William Hill)

Race 2 – Maiden Plate (1000m)

First-starter Chess Star has terrific trial form leading into this. The Waterhouse and Bott runner finished less than a length away from smart stablemate Santos, which reads extremely well heading into this maiden.

Race 2 tip: Chess Star to win ($4.80 at Ladbrokes)

Race 3 – Maiden Plate (1000m)

Chateau Griffo has raced in much stronger races than this and performed admirably. This is a step down in class and it should be able to handle this field.

Race 3 tip: Chateau Griffo to win ($1.50 at Sportsbet)

Race 4 – Maiden Plate (1300m)

Somnium was only a length away from winning upon resumption and it should be going close here. The Hayes, Hayes and Dabernig runner has placed in two of its last three runs and will be right in the mix.

Race 4 tip: Somnium to win ($5 at Sportsbet)

Race 5 – Benchmark 64 (1300m)

A bad gate is the only thing we see toppling None Better here. The horse was a strong winner at BM58 level first-up on February 7 and it has a second-up win in the past. It bodes well for a good run.

Race 5 tip: None Better to win ($11 at William Hill)

Race 6 – Benchmark 70 (1400m)

Our Chiquilla has been racing well over its last three starts without breaking through for a win. The Weir runner has placed in three-straight events and will be right in the frame in this one.

Race 6 tip: Our Chiquilla to win ($4.80 at William Hill)

Race 7 – Benchmark 70 (1000m)

We’re looking for Sacred Sham to atone for a disappointing showing at the Valley on February 16. The galloper was a short-price favourite that day, but it did not get a lot of luck. We’re looking for a strong bounce back performance.

Race 7 tip: Sacred Sham to win ($2.65 at Crownbet)

Race 8 – Benchmark 64 (1600m)

All Hard Wood won by a nose on debut and can continue the winning form in this one. The horse has been freshened since that run and it will be fitter and more experienced for that performance. With not a lot of speed it will be finding the lead easily here.

Race 8 tip: All Hard Wood to win ($5.50 at Crownbet)
