Beaudesert Race Club

Nine races head to Beaudesert on Monday for the Queen’s Birthday holiday in Queensland. The track is rated a Good 4, and the rail stays in the true position. Race 1 is scheduled to start at 12:11pm AEST.

Best BetRace 3 – Astral Knights Get the best odds

Mark Du Plessis heads west for just two rides on Monday, and this looks the best winning chance of the pair. Astral Knight comes off back-to-back fourth placings at Ipswich and Kilcoy, and he looks well placed here in the same class but up to 2450m. He has savaged the line in all runs this time in and looks to have been crying out for a staying trip. Du Plessis will likely settle last from gate four, but the gelding should appreciate plenty of speed in the race and won’t be too far away in the field of seven. The form around Willo Titto looks brilliant.

Next BestRace 4 – Ramtastic Get the best odds

We think we can go back-to-back and nail the running double in race four with Kelly Schweida’s Ramtastic. The Sepoy gelding showed plenty of promise early in his career but has always managed to find one better than him, running second eight times in his 19 career starts including each of his last four. He was scratched from a good race at the Sunshine Coast on Sunday in preference for this, and the booking of James Orman is positive. While he has come second in all three second-up performances, this looks a race where he can break that curse and get an easy kill. In another small field, Orman will cross and be very handy from the outside alley. Ramtastic should have the wood on these and justify the odds-on quote.

Best ValueRace 8 – Million Get the best odds

Million lines up in a winnable Fillies & Mares Benchmark 55 in an attempt to win her second race. While she has never seemed to put it all together on race day, her third to Zoustyle on debut is great form for this. She wasn’t beaten all that far in a tougher race at the Gold Coast last start and will appreciate the drop in class. Nathan Fazackerley hops aboard again with his 1.5kg claim and will settle handily from barrier 7. Million’s only win to date came over 1100m, so we expect her to go well here.
