Baster starts suspension after Flemington

Jockey Stephen Baster can take the ride on the fancied Puccini at Flemington before starting a careless riding suspension.

Baster was outed for seven meetings at Mornington on Wednesday for causing interference aboard Tuff Bickie.

Racing Victoria stewards said Baster tightened Immortal Fire, the mount of Daniel Moor, near the 500m mark.

Baster pleaded guilty and will begin his suspension after racing at Flemington on Saturday, returning for the Sandown meeting on December 24.

The jockey has two Flemington rides, first starter Baduzzi in the Christmas Season Plate and Puccini in the Skipton Handicap.

Puccini is coming off a last-start second in the Pakenham Cup on December 3 and is the $5.50 third favourite in early markets behind Boom Time ($3.30) and Lord Van Percy ($4.60).
